Printer repair services
We are proud to introduce our printer repair centre, which, in our admittedly immodest opinion, is the best in the city. We repair and service out-of-warranty printers, refill and remanufacture toner cartridges, sell consumables and configure many brands and models of printers and scanners. You can also purchase new original or fully compatible spare parts and other supplies for your printer. Here are some of the services we offer:
Paper
jams
Paper jams are undoubtedly among the most common printer problems. They can be caused by poor-quality paper or worn components in the printing device. If a crumpled sheet does not come out freely, do not try to pull it out or remove it with tweezers, scissors, knives or other tools. This should be done by a technician who understands the device's construction and knows how to release the jammed sheet safely.
Printer jams
caused by poor-quality paper
If this happens repeatedly, try changing the paper to rule it out as the cause. Buying and using high-quality paper helps extend your device's life. Our sales team can offer a wide selection to help you avoid this kind of problem.
Worn separator fingers,
rollers or gears
If jams continue despite using good-quality paper, the device should be inspected to identify worn components that need replacing. Sometimes a small fragment left behind from a previously torn sheet causes the jam. This is another reason why we advise Tehnologichno customers not to pull out paper unless it comes out easily. The machine may need dismantling, servicing and inspection, with worn parts replaced if necessary.
Worn
pickup rollers
A printer, scanner or copier contains many mechanical and electronic components. Pickup rollers commonly wear out or fail. When this happens, paper jams at the start of its path or does not feed into the machine at all.
Print quality problems:
lines, dots and marks on copies
Printing devices may begin leaving marks on paper or producing blurred, cloudy or pale images. These symptoms can have very different causes.
Worn
drum
Some print quality problems are caused by a worn drum. This is an aluminium cylinder with a special photoconductive coating. The laser projects an image onto it so toner adheres in the appropriate exposed areas. The toner is then transferred to the paper. As the drum wears, its properties deteriorate and dark streaks often appear, usually along one edge of the sheet. This develops gradually and may temporarily disappear before returning. The drum then needs replacing. In some printers the drum is part of the toner cartridge, so the cartridge must be replaced or remanufactured. In other printers and larger machines, the drum is a separate module requiring more extensive servicing. Our Tehnologichno printer technicians have the knowledge to service your device.
Problems with
the fuser
The fuser, sometimes called the printer's heater, permanently fixes the transferred toner to the paper. Users should not work on this unit themselves because it involves high voltages and temperatures, with potentially serious consequences for an inexperienced person. The fuser contains pressure and heated rollers; some devices use a special Teflon film instead of a roller. All these components, including the heaters, have a limited service life. Like car parts, their life is measured by work performed: mileage for cars and copies printed for printing equipment. The replacement interval differs for each machine. If toner is not properly fixed when the sheet leaves the printer, it smears when touched. This usually indicates a faulty heater or temperature sensor. Tehnologichno copier servicing always uses high-quality original or compatible parts to ensure good print quality.
Problems with
the transfer belt in colour printers
Colour printers typically have a transfer belt with a service life measured in copies. It transfers images from the four colour drums onto the paper in precise alignment. When the belt wears, paper jams or colour misalignment may occur, along with other visible signs on printed output. These devices have four drum units and four toner cartridges, one for each colour: cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
Problems with
the laser unit
Laser unit problems are less common. Over the years, dirt can accumulate around the printer's laser, requiring cleaning. Noise may occur and an error may appear on the display. In these cases, contact a specialist.
Problems with
the scanning unit
Scanner problems can result from deteriorated lubricant, worn belts or gears. Dirty optical paths can also reduce copy quality. Scanning components should only be serviced by a qualified technician because high voltages in this section can be dangerous.
Regular
maintenance
Tehnologichno provides thorough maintenance of copying and printing equipment. Every machine needs periodic servicing to extend the life of its internal components. The appropriate frequency depends on the operating environment and the average number of copies produced over time.
Installation
and setup
Our repair centre can also help install devices in the workplace, including network printers. This may require specialist knowledge, particularly for shared devices.
